Happy 4th Birthday, Matthew! I cannot believe it has been four years. My, how my life has changed in those four years... When I held you, I was not a mother, yet, but I yearned so badly to be. When we lost you, the pain I felt was so intense, I questioned whether I should take the risk of loving my own child as I loved you. Shortly after, I found out I was pregnant with Carmen after trying for two years. And now I have also welcomed Hudson. How I WISH you were here to play with your 'cousins'. How I wish you had a physical presence in their life and not the picture on our wall, and the stories I tell. Your time on the earth may have been short, but your effect is so deep. Was browsing through Calguns forum and saw the link to this site in the signature line of one of your posts. Seeing the dates I knew what a sad story I was about to get into and my heart started breaking. But after reading through the story and seeing how much love and joy this little one brought into this world, there was no way I could be sad. This site is truly a celebration of life, love, and family. I want to say thank you for sharing your story. Being a father of 2 young boys (ages 3 and 1), it makes me treasure my babies even more, and teaches me not to take any time with them for granted. Rest in peace, baby Matthew.

Dear Matthew, I cannot believe it will be two years on Thursday since you arrived. I vividly remember every detail of visiting your Mommy in the hospital the 10 weeks she was there awaiting your arrival, coming to celebrate and see you when you arrived healthy and strong, and the joy we felt when you got to go home with your family.
