Stories

6/23/2009:

This has been the longest I have gone without placing a story!!!!! WOW!   Anyhow... here are the happenings.....

On June 10th, Ashley had her Kindergarten Celebration.... so she basically graduated and is moving on to 1st grade! It's so hard to believe that she is going into 1st grade.  Ashley had so many wonderful milestones this year.  Ashley is reading books on her own, she writes stories and creates her own books.  She had developed a wonderful and very deversified vocabulary, using words that I dont believe I even used until 8th grade! LOL  She has truly surprised us and we are so proud of her.

This past Father's Day Ashley performed at our church, she sang with the Kids Choir and she also performed on Mother's Day. It was beautiful.... she is off of choir for the summer as well.

Ashley was also awarded some really special awards in May 2009.  Ashley is part of the Mpact girls program, it's like Girl Scouts, but through our church and it's  nationwide program through the Assemblies of God churches.  Ashley received a trophy for "Honor Daisy" and another trophy for "Highest Achiever" in the Daisies Club.  She also recived certificates for her advancement to the next club "Prims Club" which she will start in the fall.  She was so happy with her trophys and we are so proud of our little girl!  She is so hard working and committed to what she does.  She truly has made us so proud.

Ashley has been great... having fun with her sister, sometimes fights. LOL But hey they are siblings... it happens!   Overall, they get a long very well and she loves her sister so much. Maira is a big help with her and over the summer is being a big part of helping take care of Ashley and helping her stay on top of her reading etc.  Ashley did great this year in Kindergarten, she ended the year right on target in terms of her Step assement, she is ready for 1st grade, we just have to keep her active in reading over the summer and be sure she stays on target with that for the fall.  Ashley received several awards at school as well, two of them were for reading programs and the fact that she completed the requirements and went above and beyond with her reading dedication.  Ashley also received perfect attendance for the ENTIRE YEAR, she was never absent in Kindergarten and also received the highest citizenship award for last quarter.  Her teacher really loved her and was amazing with her.  She misses her friends over the summer, but we have a few playdates set up to stay connected.

I was off of work for almost 2 months, I had major surgery but thanfully... i'm back to myself again and the wound has healed nicely.  I'm looking forward to starting to run again and moving on with my normal activity.  I came back to work this week only to find out that we may be laid off next week, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers...... looks like the State of Illinois is making MAJOR budget cuts and they are focusing on cutting off 50% of human and child services, which is what I work in.  So please keep us in your prayers.....

I believe that's all for now... :)  stay tuned for new pictures.....

March 15, 2009

Hi Everyone!  WOW! What a gorgeous day here in Chicago today!  It was 60 degrees and sunny! Gorgeous day!  :)   We took the kids out to the park, they had a blast, We also enjoyed a long walk at the park, it was awesome.  We also brought out Ashley's bike for the first time this year, she was a little nervous getting on it again, but got the hang of it quickly and had a blast.

Ashley is doing great in school, she's becoming a great reader, her teacher tells me that she tries very hard and is really becoming a great reader and writer.  He says that she is extremely excited about learning and is polite and friendly with all the children in her class.

Ashley will be starting Choir again in April and i'm also going to be signing her up for some ballet classes as well.  She loves dancing and expresses her interest constantly.

Recently she has grown to love Pomegranate and oh my goodness, she wants it ALL the time. lol  That fruit is not always easy to find around her, but when I do, I make sure to pick up a few!

Maira has adjusted very well to our home and our family and Ashley loves having her sister around all the time.

The kids had their constitution test at school and both of the past the test with 98 and 96 percent.  They were both so proud and so were we.  They are getting ready for their trip to Springfield Illinois to visit the Capital of Illinois and all the old sites where Abraham Lincoln lived.  They are really excited about that as well.

Well everyone, I posted a few new pictures, I know i haven't kept up with the site as much lately, I was very sick for a while and still going through some testing, they are trying to figure out the problem, hopefully soon, it has to do with my digestive system, very painful, but thankfully I have been ok lately. :)

take care everyone!

2/23/09:

Hello everyone!

Wow, I have been so sick for about a week now.  Visited my doctor and now it's time to test, test, test.  Seems as though I have some pretty serious issues with my digestive system, please keep me in your prayers.  I'm staying pretty positive and just letting God do His thing!

This past weekend Ruddy and I had a weekend just for us.  Our family kept the kids for us and so we were able to spend some much needed time alone.  On Friday night we started off with catching the movie "Friday the 13th".... it was just ok. I like scary movies, that's why I wanted to see it... but the sexuality... my God!  It was way too much!

Then on Saturday we decided to catch another movie early!  So we saw Tyler Perry's: Madea goes to Jail"  OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!  The movie is HILARIOUS!!!!!! We loved it.  We had a great lunch and then it was back home to get ready for the night.  We got tickets to go see the broadway production "The Jersey Boys"...  WHAT A WONDERFUL SHOW!!!  It was incredible.  Both Ruddy and I loved it so much.  Before the show we went out to dinner as well.

After the show, we went out for desert, then it was back home.  The kids all came home on Sunday... I have to admit I missed them, BUT I really enjoyed having that alone time with my husband and just enjoying each other's company.

The kids are all great.  Maira has adjusted well to living in Chicago and with us.  She loves school and is doing well.  Josiah loves having his sister near and they spend a lot of time together.  They are both in 7th grade (Maira is suppose to be in 6th grade, but was double promoted two years ago).  So they are excited about their upcoming trip to Sprinfield Illinois to visit the capital and President Lincolns old sites.  They took the constitution test last Friday and they both felt really good about it.

Ashley is doing great as well.  Last Friday her school celebrated "100 days of school" and I volunteered in her classroom, boy did they have fun.  They made fruit loops necklaces with 100 fruit loops, they played with stickers, made head bands that said "100 days", made trail mix (80 pretzels and 20 marshmellows = 100)  Everything was 100! LOL  They had a blast. She loves school and is reading and enjoys learning new words and new things at school.  She is also in the after school enrichment program and currently is learning Photography, African Drums and Drama.  She really enjoys the after school program.

She was invited to two birthday parties this upcoming weekend.  Two of her classmates and she is REALLY excited about going.  One of the birthdays is taking place at "pump it up" and she is really excited to attend.  She is certaintly growing up really fast!  I still cannot beleive that she has friends and is invited to birthday parties and is READING!   Ugh, feels like it was just yesterday that I was feeding her with a bottle!

Other than that, were just waiting for sweet spring to get here to Chicago, cannot wait! :)  I'm sort of DONE with winter already. I'm excited and looking forward to some warmer weather.

Well everyone! :)  Take care!

.
I found this old video of Ashley singing her little heart out!  She has always loved to sing.  I cried when I saw it, she was only 2 years old and to see her so small (well you know as a mommy) it's just emotional!  Check it out.

2/7/09:

Hello Everyone:

Well this weekend has been so fun.  Ashley had her very best friend almost sister.... Angelica sleep over last night.  The girls played for HOURS and went to be at 1am! hahhah They played Barbie's and with the Barbie Dream House for hours!  This morning they woke up and we got ready and hit the mall!  They are only 4 and 5 years old, but they sure love going to the mall.   We went to Build-A-Bear Workshop and the girls got matching bears.  They had a blast putting it together and even had sound put into the bears that says: " I love you" when you squeeze their foot.  After there, I took the girls to lunch, the really enjoyed handing around the Rainforest cafe at the mall too.  We walked and laughed and had such a nice time.  We got back to our house and they went right back to playing again and Angelica spent the entire day with us, I just drove her home a little while ago.  Ashley was soooo tired from the day that she went right to bed.

Ruddy is out of town in Orlando Florida on a business trip. He come back home tomorrow (Sunday), he's been gone since Thursday, we miss him so much!  Ashley spoke to him Via Skype earlier this evening, she was so happy to see her daddy on the computer and talk to him.  Ashley misses him terribly, she always misses her daddy so much when he leaves on business. We'll be so happy to have him home tomorrow.

Also, my sister in law took Josiah and Maira for the weekend and they will be coming home tomorrow as well.  The house feels really empty, but the good thing is that Ashley and I have been able to spend some quality time alone together and she has really enjoyed having all my attention all for her.  She also was able to spend some quality time with her best friend Angelica.  Those two love each other so much and always have to much fun together.

Ashley is growing up so fast. I watch her doing her homework and reading and at times I just cannot believe that's my little girl.  She really loves school and loves her teacher so much.  She is already half way through Kindergarten, first grade is next! WOW!  Amazing how fast time goes by.

Well, that's all for now folks.... Take care and much love to ya!

Happy New Year Everyone! We just got back to Chicago from Sunny Florida.  It was so nice out there.  We spent 10 days away from home, we had tons of fun out there.  We spent new years eve at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.  We also attended a 50th wedding annivesary party and a graduation party for my niece who graduated from college.  We had pool time at the resort, lots of shopping and even managed to visit downtown Disney and catch a movie with my whole family out there in Orlando. It was so fun!  The kids had a blast.  They were swimming at the resort serveral times, played board games out of the patio at our condo and just have lots of fun together!

I have posted some of the pictures from Christmas and from our trip. :)  Enjoy and we are looking forward  to a prosperous and joyful new year 2009!   Ashley will be 6 years old this year and my step children Josiah will be 14 and Maira will be 13.  Oh my!  Ruddy and I will make 9 years this year since we met.  Time sure flies by!

Wow, I cannot believe that we are in DECEMBER!  I've truly been slacking on the stories!  Things have been extremely busy lately.  I figured right now I have a little down time (Surprisingly), because Josiah is in bed with the flu and Ashley is sleeping and my husband is at church teaching a class, so I'm all alone. Sometimes those moments are really nice. :)  lol

Anyhow, I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We sure did !I have some pics I will put up very soon.  We had dinner at our house this year and the entire family came over, close to 30 people having dinner at our house, it was so nice.  We did our traditional tree trimming after dinner and everyone brought an ornament to hand on the tree, it was great!

On Friday after Thanksgiving, Ruddy and I left on a Marriage Retreat.  We were teaching two classes at the retreat, so we had a busy weekend ahead, nevertheless it was a blessing and we had a wonderful time. The retreat was the largest one ever, over 120 couples attended and our class turned out great, to God be all the Glory.  We loved being alone for a few days, we were able to get some christmas shopping done as well.  :)

Were going to be heading to Florida on Christmas Day and we are really excited.  Were going to visit our family out there and spend New Years Eve at Universal Studios in Florida. It's going to be so much fun! The kids are really looking forward to it as well! :) Praise God!

Other than that, Ashley is doing great, she did SOO well on her report card, she is Demonstrating in every area and ir progessing in all that she is being taught. Her teacher told us that she has moved up 3 levels in her STEP assessment and is loving to learn.

She has another field trip coming up in a few weeks to see the Nutcracker.  She is really happy about that.  Her school is also goign to put a production together for Christmas.  I"ll be there with my camera !LOL :)

Love you guys!

11/7/2008:

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday I accompanied Ashley's Kindergarten Class on a field trip to the Sears Tower here in Chicago.  They have been learning about "communities" and the big city and they ended their unit by taking a trip to Sears Tower in Chicago.  The morning started out by walking to the Metra train near her school, we took the train to the Sears Tower (one of the worlds tallest buildings, it was once THE worlds tallest building).  We went to the Sears Tower, explored and learned some of the landmarks, then we headed back to the train station and ate lunch at McDonald's.  The kids all LOVED the trip.  Ashley and her friend Sophia were inseperable throughout the entire trip. IT's so cute to see Ashley making new friends and creating close bonds with some of her classmates.   They sure learned a lot about the city, but boy were they TIRED afterwards.... they were all so tired on the train ride back to the school.  It was fun.....

We've had unusually warm weather out here this past week.... we had temps in the mid 70's! and sunny.. unfortunately it's over now... as of today were back in the 50's... :(  and it's all downhill from here.  We all know what is coming ahead.... WINTER. :(  I dont like winter!  Do not like the snow too much. :)   Anyhow, were excited about the holidays coming.... were also going to be heading out to Florida on Christmas Day to spend time with the family in orlando Florida, were going to Universal Studios for New Years Eve and were planning on having a great time!

I hope all of you are doing great!  Check out all the new pics.....

Love,

10/20/2008:

Good Morning Everyone!

Been a while since i've written an update.   Everything is great around the Ortiz Household.  Ashley is loving Kindergarten. She gets homework every single night, including a book report every night as well.  She is a bit tired at times, but still insist on doing her homework as soon as we get home in the evening.   Her vocabulary has grown so much since she started school, we are so proud of her. She is excited about Halloween, not because it's Halloween, but because at our church were having a big production called "Halleluiah Night" and she's singing 4 songs....with the children's choir. Their going to have lots of games and candy too.  So She is looking forward to that.  She is enjoying all their is to fall.  Playing in the leaves, going for brisk walks and pumpkin patches.   We received Ashley's progress report for school and so far so good, she is doing great!  Her teachers states that she is eager to learn and seems to enjoy learning.  She is right on target with her development in school.  She can already spell several words and can even read some words too.  So she is excited about that!

Josiah is doing great! He brought home a wonderful progress report.  He is aware that 7th grade is an important year for high school prep, so he is determined to work very hard and so far so good, he's doing great.  He's a teenager!!!!  So that's all I can say. :)   Seriously though, he's doing great and seems to be more and more curious about the word of God, which is music to my ears!

Ruddy and I went on a "Couple Date Night" last weekend with three other couples and we had SOOOOO much fun!  We first went to see that movie "FireProof" (tears)   it was so good and we recommend it to all married couples.  Then we went out to dinner at "WildFire" mmmmm that's all I can say!  The food was delicious ! We had a great tim in fellowship and it was sooo nice!  :)

Well, I have posted a few pictures from this past Saturday.  I ran my very first 5K Race! :)  It took place here in downtown Chicago near Lincoln Park and there were about 3,000 runners.  Myself, my sister in-law and my niece ran it!   We did great timing and we had so much fun!  WE DID IT GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm so proud of both my niece and my sister in law, we set out to do this months ago and here we are! :) We Did IT! and it felt GREAT!

I have posted pictures of Ashley playing in the leaves too.... she and our neighbors kids are very close and they had tons of fun rolling around in the leaves yesterday (Sunday) so I posted the pictures... check them out!

The Holidays are NEAR! :)  Hope everyone is getting ready! :)

Take care!

10/6/2008:

This weekend we had a great time. I took Ashley to her very first pumpkin patch for 2008.  She had So much fun!  I posted some pictures. She rode the Pony, played in the bounce house, ate pumpkin cookies, went to the petting zoo and had tons of fun!  She loved it and so did I! :)  I'm like  a big kid sometimes, I love to see her have fun!  :)

On Sunday we went to church and then just had family time and it was great!  I love spending time with my family and just having fun and/or relax time.  The weather is great here in Chicago and Fall is definantly upon us. I love this time of year!  Were going to go to a few other pumpkin patches before Halloween and were even planning on going apple picking, sould be tons fun. Stay tuned to more pictures.

Ashley is loving Kindergarten.  She gets a lot of homework each night, but never complains ... she loves to do homework. My husband said I should record her saying that so we can save it for when she is older and doesn't want to do homework. LOL She's doing great in school, her teacher loves her and she has a great team working with her in the after school program. She is blossoming academically and my husband and I are so suprised as to how much she has learned in a month.

Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying fall and getting ready for the holidays!

Much love,

Rosy & Family

9/21/2008:

Happy Fall Everyone!  :)   Been a while since I've written a story.  Things have been a bit busy since the kids started school.  They both gets lots of homework every night.  I still can't believe how much homework Ashley is getting each night, but she LOVES it.  She tells me "mommy I'm getting a lot of homework like a "BIG KID" :)  heheh  she really loves it.  She is really excited about school and seems to have adjusted well to the schedule.  She has a great teacher and an awesome supportive staff that she loves at the school. She also loves her after school program and they have tons of fun playing and learning as well.  She has a couple little friends Nora, Kari, Dorty and Collin.  Those are the 4 she talks about all the time.  When I drop her off at school in the morning, there is always a group of kids playing already and when they see her, they call her right away "ASHLEY COME AND PLAY" and she is so happy to do so.

Josiah is loving 7th grade. He has great teachers we met them last week.  This year they are taking their Sprigfield trip in the spring to visit, he is very excited about that.  He also really likes his teachers and is doing really well.  He is very focused and has set goals for himself for this year.  Ruddy and I are encouring him to keep up the great work.

Were here in Chicago, enjoying the nice weather, it's been great!  Aside from the huge flood we had last weekend, the weather has been awesome.  70's and 80's and sunny!  Love it! Fall starts today and it's gorgeous out here. The trees are starting to change in color, to red, yellow and orange!  It's so pretty this time of year.  Ashley loves to go for walks in the evenings and pick leaves. It's been fun!  After we eat dinner and she finishes her homework we enjoy going for walks every evening..... Ashley loves to ride her bike and has surely gotten LOTS of use out of it since she got it for her birthday in July.  She has mastered the bike and even rides it standing up. :)  It's so cute.

This coming month we'll be heading out to various pumpkin farms and apple picking.  We LOVE this time of year! :)  So stay tuned to the pictures! :)  You know i love taking pictures. :)

Take care everyone.... till next time...

Rosy & Family

9/5/2008:

Well, Ashley LOVES School!!!!!!   She told me that her teacher is the best teacher! :)  When I went to pick her up at the after school program she was having the time of her life playing inthe play lot.  Her after school program incorporates, physical educaiton, Spanish, Art, reading skill and tutoring.  She tells me she really likes school.  She did tell me "Mommy, I was in school ALLLL day, it was long."  On the first day... but now she seems to be use to it.  She really is enjoying it thus far, which makes us feel good about her experience.

On Tuesday evening Ashley also had her first ballet audition.  She did great and danced for  the instructor's.  They loved her and she will be starting ballet in two weeks.   They met with me afterwords to give me a brief assessment of what they thought of her skills.  They said that she is on point with ballet, that her form is great and she follow instructions very well.  We are really happy for Ashley, she has been wanting to be in ballet for a few years now.

This has been a very busy week for her.  She started Kindergarten on Tuesday, had her audition on Tuesday, today (Friday), she starts MPact Girls Program as a DAISY.  She has graduated from the Rainbows club and is moving now into the Daisy's club.  She is really excited.  Tomorrow (Saturday) Kidz choir starts again as well.  So it's been a busy week for her.   She has been enjoying every moment of it.

I actually recieved an email from her teacher a few moments ago, here is what he had to say so far:  " Ashley is enjoying kindergarten. She has already seemed to open up a little and has spoken to me a couple of times. She is very attentive and likes to participate in songs and charts that we read as a class. I am sure that she will continue to blossom and you should be very proud of her."  I was relieved to know this, as Ashley is a bit quiet in school and a little shy, so to see that she is opening up is great news.

Well everyone, I hope all of you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer that we have left.  Here in Chicago, the weather has changed a bit, it's a little cooler and RAINING a lot.

Take care!

Rosy & Family

9/2/2008:

Ok, well I dropped off Ashley at Kindergarten about an hour ago.  BOY WAS I A MESS!  She seemed to be ok, she seemed to be a little nervous, I think that is what made me nervous and I had to break down into tears the moment I got back into the car!  :(  When we arrived at school, she saw her teacher again. Mr. Cercone and he gave her a name tag.  She didn't say much to him but smile at him.  Then she lined up with her other classmates, wearing her HUGE tinkerbelle back pack. LOL  She looked nervous, but didn't really want me to know she was nervous.  She waved "Goodbye mommy" all the way until they entered the school building. :(  There were a whole bunch of parents sobbing once that door closed.  I joined in the sob fest. :( lol  It was just hard seeing her go into a BIG school and knowing that she no longer was going to have a person to herself, one on one, taking care of her.  Now it was up to her to participate in class among 23 other children! :( I know deep down inside she was really scared, but she didn't want mommy to know how nervous she was.  I pray God's covering over her while she is in school.  I can't wait till it's time to pick her up. I'm going to SQUEEZE HER!!!!!!!!!!! and kiss her until tomorrow morning. :(   I think the first day is the hardest, then I know she will be ok. I hope!

Please keep her in your prayers...... I'm posting some pictures of her right now......

Sad mommy! :)

Rosy

9/1/2008:

Well, it's the eve of my baby's ( I mean daughter's :) ) first day of Kindergarten!  I sit here so happy for my little girl, but at the same time as nervous as can be! :)   As for Ms. Ashley she is soooo excited, she tells me she is not scared and is not nervous at all. She is just so excited to start kindergarten!  I try to pretend like "I'm cool!" LOL but deep down inside, the thought of my little girl being in a kindergarten class all day long!!!!! :)  Kind of worries me a little.  However, I also know that she is going to do great!  She'll be in school a full day till almost 4pm, then she will be in an after school program, where she is going to learn spanish, the arts, they offer tutoring and writing skills.  We are looking forward to a great school year!  I'll keep you all updated with pictures of her first day of school and the story!  So stay tuned.

Josiah also goes back to school tomorrow, 7th grade!  So we are going to start being VERY busy around here starting tomorrow.  On Tuesday, Ashley will also be auditioning for ballet and she is really excited about that too!  We went out and bought her a pink leotard, tights and ballet shoes.  On Friday she starts the Mpact girls program as a Daisy and then on Saturday she will start choir for another year!   So busy, busy, busy! :)  We are looking forward to the fall, but not so much for the winter. LOL  When you live in Chicago, Winter isn't always so fun! :)

Anyhow, please keep Ashley and Josiah in your prayers as they start a new school year!  Especially Ashley, who is going to be in school for a full day for the first time.

With much love,
Rosy & Family

8/26/2008:

Hi everyone!  School is just 6 days away!  Josiah will be going into 7th grade and Ashley is starting Kindergarten!  Ashley is so happy about school starting and she loves her new school.  We have finished buying all the supplies for both Ashley and Josiah and they are set to start school.  This coming Friday the 29th,  we are going to a back to school Carnival at Ashley's school and also will be dropping off all of her supplies.  On the first day of school, they will have having a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, since it's a new school, then they will be off to a full day of kindergarten.  We have purchased her new bookbag too, a TINKERBELLE bookbag and lunch bag.

This weekend we have a packed agenda!  Thursday I will be baking lots of cookies with my sister, in preparation for our family reunion picnic on Sunday.  Friday we'll be going to Ashley's carnival for school and then off to a concert at our church.  Saturday we'll be volunteering all day at "HopeFest" an event that our church puts out every year before school starts.  Where they give away schoo supplies, book bags, groceries, haircuts, healthcare and much more.  Then on Sunday were having our annual family reunion picnic.  Were expecting a HUGE crowd this year.  Were having it a forest preserve park.  Should be lots of fun.  Then Monday, Labor Day were going to relax and enjoy a free day before school starts on Tuesday.  Were excited about that!

it's been a great summer this year.  We've had AWESOME weather this summer.

Well everyone, take care and come back soon, to see pictures of Ashley's first day of Kindergarten.

Love,

Rosy & Family

8/19/2008:

Hi Everyone:

Well, things are going well around the Ortiz Home.  We have some great news.  Ashley was just accepted into a Magnet School here in Chicago.  FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN with after school program.  We are SOOO happy that God has opened up this door for our little girl.  She is beyond excited.  We went this past weekend and bought all her school supplies and clothes in preparation for Kindergarten.   Her school is having a BBQ/Carnival on the 29th so that she can meet all her teachers and the other kids in her class.   We have been blessed with this and for that I want to give God all the glory, because He is the one that made this happen for us.

Well, just wanted to give the good news and say that we are getting ready for school and were also going to have a huge family reunion/picnic on the 31st of August, which is exciting!   Can't wait for that.

Take care everyone,

Rosy & Family

8/15/2008:

Well, Ashley and Josiah got back from Lake Geneva Yesterday!  Boy was it weird around the house without them there.  Ruddy and I were able to spend some quiet quality time together and we even went to a MIDNIGHT MOVIE! :)  We NEVER get to do that!  :)  It was great having that time alone and just reconnecting for a few days.  However, when the kids got home, I was SUPER happy. I missed them so much.  It was the first time that Ashley was gone from home without me and I was sort of a mess the first day. :)  So it was nice to see her again and we hung out the rest of the day.  I took her to buy all her school supplies and her uniforms.  She was SOOOO happy. She picked out a Disney Princess Backpack with  "Her Girls" on it.  :)   She is so excited about school starting just a few weeks away.

Well, this weekend Ruddy and Josiah are both gone to IOWA on a Missions trip through our church.  They are going to take food, clothing and diapers to a group of women out there who went through a horrible raid due to immigration.  God isn't a God only to America.....He loves everyone.  So they will be gone till late Saturday and so Ashley and I will be alone.  Just getting ready for school.

Well everyone, I posted a bunch of new pictures, so please check them out! :)

From the pictures you can see that Ashley had her first sleepover this past weekend.  She had her friend Angelica over and it was her first sleepover too and they had a blast!!!!!!!!!!

On Friday I took them to the park, they played for a long time in the playground, then I took them both to Dairy Queen for Ice Cream Cones.  Ashley got Vanilla (her favorite) and Angelica got Chocolate.  They ate them so fast and loved every bite.  We got home, they took a bath and then played "girls dance party" as they called it. They danced around the house, did the Macarena! LOL it was hilarious!  Then they played with the V-Smile game for a while, then it was time for popcorn and a movie.....BarnYard.   Right before bed I read them a bedtime story and they went right to sleep.

Saturday they woke up around 8am and after breakfast, I took the girls for a bike ride.  Ashley rode her new bike and Angelica rode Ashley's old bike.  They had a BLAST!  We came back home and they played with chalk out in the back of the house.  Then it was off to make lunch.  The girls enjoyed macaroni and cheese and a snack and then they watched cartoons.  The finished off their sleepover with playing "house" and "kitchen" in Ashley's room.  When I went to take Angelica home, her and Ashley both fell asleep in the back seat.  They were wipped out! :)  They had so much fun!

Later on Saturday, we had our "family Day" it was a Hawaiian Luau and it was very nice.  I posted a few pictures of that as well.

Sunday we just relaxed at home, it was a nice cooler day 70's. It was nice....

This morning (Tuesday) Ashley left with my brother and his wife (her God Parents) to Lake Geneva, IL.  They went to stay at a resort with an indoor water park.  Ashley was SOOOO excited.  They will be gone until Thursday afternoon.  I'm missing her like crazy already, but I knew she was so excited to go and she is going to have a blast!  They are also going to the beach on the last day and she is SOOO looking forward to that.  Her best buddy Angelica is on the trip as well, so I'm sure they are going to have a BLAST!  Josiah is also gone on the trip, so Ruddy and I are alone for a couple of days. :)  It's always nice to be alone for a few days, to reconnect and enjoy some time alone.  Praise God for God Parents and Aunts and Uncles. :)

I miss her like crazy though and she only left a few hours ago, but I miss her so much! :(  I can't wait till Thursday. :)

When she comes back from the trip, were going to go shopping for her school supplies and uniforms.  KINDERGARTEN is just a few weeks away! :)  How exciting!!!!!!!!

Well, everyone...take care! :)

8/5/2008:

Hello Everyone!

Wow it's been a busy week here!   Ashley has been having a great time with her new bike and her new V-Smile games and barbies that she received for her birthday.  She tends to play with the barbies for  about an hour or so, then move on to her V-smiles games for another hour, then she wants to go for a walk with me, so she can ride her bike.  She has been keeping me moving, which is always GREAT! I love to spend time outside enjoying the summer weather, especially since we live in Chicago.  Summer is a GREAT time for us... before winter comes. :(

Ashley loves to ride her bike to the park, play at the playground for a while and then get some ice cream before heading back home.  Mommy loves it too, because I get to get in some extra excersise!

This weekend we are having our "Family Day". Were having a Luau/pool party.  It's going to be lots of fun and were celebrating my sister in law Delia's birthday and my brother Edwin.  The two August birthdays.  Were looking forward to having a great time!

Were beginning to buy all of the kids school supplies and uniforms.  School starts in just a few weeks.  Ashley is going to Kindergarten and she is so excited!  Josiah is going to 7th grade!  So it will be back to school soon! Ashley keeps on telling me that she wishes school started "right now".  I hope she keeps that attitude about school for the many years to come! :)

Well everyone, I will post new pictures very soon!

Take care
