Stories 1/23/2008 - Tooth #6, I mean #7, I mean #8 has arrived. She woke up this morning with 3 (sharp) teeth bursting through her gums. That would explain the crying for an hour last night and possibly the eating every other hour yesterday. :) 1/13/08 - She's MOBILE!!!! Peyton took her first steps today. . . . at church. . . .I'm sensing a trend about going to church! :) :) :) She still likes crawling--it gets her where she wants to go more quickly, but she thinks it so cool when she takes steps! :) :) :) 1/9/08 - Tooth #5 is here! Arrived tonight while we were at church! :) 11/7/07 - Tooth #4 is VERY visible this morning. . .think it might've come in yesterday but because its so smooth, I couldn't feel it--thought it was just inflamed gums. . she wouldn't let me look. Either way, it's here and so pretty! :) :) :)
10/31/07 - First, Peyton got tooth #3 on Monday (10/29). :) Now--for today's news. . . Caleb and Peyton had fun at the Fall Fest tonight at church. Caleb was a riot, as usual. He took a fall and had a bloody spot on the back of his head, but seems to be just fine. Mommy was goofy and failed to remember that she was using metal to roast marshmallows and now her lip is VERY sore. Barring those incidents--we all had a blast. Peyton enjoyed the lights and activity--just sat and watched everyone around her and soaked in the "awe. . . she's so cute" statement! LOL :) :) Daddy has a hidious wig on--you'll see it in one pic, but I failed to get a good picture of that! :) The pics are online at

under Fall Fest 2007 10/2/07 - Peyton got her first tooth today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9/12/07 - For those of you keeping up with Peyton's progress--she has now started standing on her own for a brief time. She'll hold onto Matt and just let go. She stands there until she realizes she's alone. Caleb was talking by this time (not full sentences or anything), but didn't walk until he was 13 months. Peyton looks like she'll be walking in the next month or two, but doesn't show any sign of talking as soon or as much as Caleb. She babbles, but it's just that--babbling. LOL :) It's funny how they are almost opposites. I'm sure the physical skills so soon are because of Caleb though--she sees him doing things and is bound and determined to follow. She's got NO fear--probably due to the fact that Caleb treats her like "just another 3-year-old"--he forgets she's still a baby. :) Caleb starts HIPPY in a week and I'm excited. It's "Homebased Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters" or something like that. He is such a little man and hilariously funny! I am really not sure what Matt and I did for entertainment before we had these comedians in our home. We're very proud parents! :) 8/29/07 - Peyton update - on top of crawling a little over a week ago, Peyton is now pulling herself up to a standing position (started on Saturday - August 25) and she is now waving (Monday - Aug 27). She is on a roll now! If only we could get those teeth to break through. . . . :) :) :) 6/2/07 - Time for an update---all is going very well around this place. We had a wonderful visit with Shelle last week and a full weekend for Memorial Day--daddy helped Grandma & Opa move next door to Great--that should be a HUGE help for Grandma since she's caring for Great most of the time. Mommy said "enough of this baby weight" and started using Opa's bowflex--she's a walking testimony for that lovely piece of equipment. Her "kangaroo pouch" doesn't hold as many kangaroos anymore! Daddy is a groomsman in a wedding this month, so mommy's got 3 weeks to lose 3 dress sizes--yeah, she's dreaming, but a girl can dream, right?!?!?! LOL Peyton is growing up so fast. She's almost sitting on her own and she loves to stand on your lap--she's discovered she can do it and that's all she wants to do now. She also discovered a "lovely" new octave--mommy will be glad when she finds a new one! Caleb is such a big boy. We are finally getting this potty thing down. He wears big boy underwear now (except at night) and excluding a couple accidents, he's doing great. He still doesn't like to poop in the potty, so we are battling that, but it's all in time. He can spell his name and talks like a 5-year-old carrying on conversations about things that just blow mommy's mind. He kinda had a "learning setback" when he stopped going to school. Mommy was still new to being at home and he didn't want to do "school" since he wasn't at school, but he loves it now. Asks me all the time, "can we do school work?". I'm a very proud momma with both of my children--they are beautiful, loving and little cuddlebugs. :) We're still praying and believing for a buyer for the house in Benton--that has been a true patience-building adventure, but it's also been a character-building adventure and dispite the anguish we've endured, I'm thankful for what we've learned--in so many aspects. I have Caleb's 3-year pictures and Peyton's 3-month pictures finally--hope to get those ready to send out soon. Grandparents---if you have a prefered size, please let me know ASAP. I'll do my best to get you what you want. I have more flexibility with Caleb's since I bought more because I only do his yearly. Peyton's are more limited since I'm going to do her pics again in just over a month (she'll be 5 months old in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!) Anyway--Caleb is itching to go outside, so I better go. Love to all! :) Laura 4/8/07 - Happy Resurrection Day!!!! Haven't posted an update in a while (much busier now than I was when it was just Caleb!). Caleb and Peyton are doing great--getting big--both of them! We're going to DisneyWorld in 3 weeks and Caleb is so excited about that. I think everyone knows, but just incase--I'm now staying at home with my babies. There is no greater gift Matt could give me than to want this for us and to work so hard to make it happen--I am blessed beyond measure! Shelle is coming to visit end of May and I am VERY excited about that! THEN--The Pampered Chef conference is in July in Chicago--I'm going with my mom and can hardly wait. Lots of neat stuff going on over the next few months! Peyton is now 3 months old and is already such a big girl--she's so beautiful too! Caleb is 3 and well into potty training (finally--thought we'd never get there). Something about turning 3--all of a sudden, it's not a battle! This next week will be bittersweet--I get to see a LOT of my family that I haven't seen in quite some time--saddens me that it took a death for it to happen--my grandpa (mom's dad) passed away on Good Friday. Still--being able to show my beautiful children off to everyone makes it easier to deal with! Well--Caleb just got up from his nap, so I better run. Will check in later! :) --Laura 2/7/2007 - I tried uploading some of the new pics to this website and after 15 minutes it flaked out on me, so you can see about 55 new ones at www.photos.yahoo.com/laurac_o2000 and click on Peyton Grace. Pics of Peyton & Caleb are out there.
2/7/2007 - Peyton had her 1 month checkup yesterday. She weighed in at 10lbs, 15oz. . . proving that she is as solid as she looks! She and Caleb are absolutely the best kids in the world. . . she is so cuddly and LOVES to cuddle (thank God!!) and Caleb is hilarious--I could spend all day telling stories about him that make me laugh. We received and accepted an offer on the house--are praying all goes smoothly now through closing. 1/13/2007 - Peyton's newest cousin was born last night. Mommy's sister, Misty, had a beautiful baby girl, Mia Jane. She weighed 7 lbs, 3 oz and was 19" long. She was born at 7:20 pm. We're all VERY excited!!!!!!
1/10/2007 - Peyton had her first dr visit today. She is perfect in every way. When we left the hospital, they were a little concerned about jaundice, but today's visit showed she is perfectly healthy. She weighs 8 lb, 11.5 oz (has only lost 1.5 oz) so that is amazing! Caleb is doing great---he is head over heels about his baby sister and I think the feeling is mutual. They laid on the bed today for 15 minutes Caleb talking to her and her smiling and cooing and just happy to be with her big brother. He is growing up so fast--such an independent little man and a loving one--let's just say, our cup runs over. We have two BEAUTIFUL and HEALTHY children, not to mention each other--we are just very blessed. Thank you for allowing us to share our joy with you! 1/8/2007 - Correction to Grandma's posting on 1/5. . . . our darling princess appears to now have hair identical to her daddy. A beautiful "dirty", "ash", "sandy" "whatever you want to call it" blonde. The red look was from her previous surroundings inside her momma and from the birth, etc. She still looks MUCH like her brother. I have two pics that you can compare--its kinda freaky. When I'm feeling better, I'll get them combined into one file and add them as a pic. :)
1/5/2007 - Hello everyone, this is Grandma Luella.
Peyton Grace arrived this morning at 7:54 am, a healthy 8lb, 13 oz baby girl!
She is 21" long, has red hair and bears a stricking resemblence to her brother Caleb!!
She seems to be really healthy, and is eating really well.
Caleb didn't want to hold her, but we did get pictures of him sitting beside her!
Daddy Vaughn will be going home later today and downloading pictures for all to see!
Mommy seems to be fine. She lost a lot of blood so is pretty weak, but she looks wonderful!
Mommy has asked that if you want to come visit that will be fine, just call first! They are at Doctor's Hospital in room 452. I didn't get the phone number before I left, but you can look in the book, or call Matt's cell if you have it.
Later!!!
Grandma
1/8/2007 - We're home! Peyton is doing GREAT!!! She is just amazing; everything a momma could dream of and more. Between Matt, Peyton and Caleb--my cup overflows constantly!!!!! Thank you for all of the prayers--please keep them coming (the percocet only lasts 3 days!!!)
12/28/06 - Went to the dr again today--nothing has changed. I'm not even having contractions anymore--just back pain. SO--he gave me a prescription for darvacet and once I complete the closing on the refinance of our home (tonight), I'll take one of those a disappear from reality for about 12 hrs. It was NOT my plan to sleep through the last week of this pregnancy, but maybe that'll make it go faster! HA! Seriously--I HAVE to get some stuff done--hopefully tomorrow the pain will be light and the drugs will be somewhat gone and I can find my daughter's bedroom!!! Either way--looks like January 5 will remain her birthday--she's not trying too hard to come any sooner. As always, Matt will keep you guys updated--I think the excitement has REALLY taken hold of him--he's calling everyone everytime anything happens! He's so fun!! I am sooooo very blessed!!!!!! Love, Laura 12/27/06 - Well. . . .we thought we might be having a "Day after Christmas Baby". If she was sick like Caleb was, we probably would've. I started having contractions at about 4:00 yesterday and they just got stronger and more painful and ALL in my back--identical to the night Caleb was born. At 8:00 we went to the hospital to be "checked". I was only dilated to 1 and "you have a very healthy baby" kept being said. Her heartrate did change with each contraction, but not like Caleb's--there was no sign of fetal distress. All that said--they gave me a shot of Dymerol & Phennergen (to help with pain and if they would've been "fake" contractions, that would've calmed them). Well--that just made a drowsy momma in pain (not as much) with contractions. However, no change in cervix for 3 hrs, so they sent me home. Contractions are still here--just not as painful in the back. I go back to the dr tomorrow--will know then if I've dilated any. If so--they may go ahead with the c-section. If not--we'll just wait and see--until the 5th--definitely having a baby by the 5th! :) :) :) Now--can I have a pain shot to relieve the spot where they gave me the pain shot?!?!? :) :) :) 12/26/06 - Wow!! This was an amazing Christmas!! Caleb was old enough to understand what was going on--to get excited about Christmas trees and lights and visiting and presents and singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus! I have discovered that enjoying Christmas through your children is what life is all about! To hear Caleb sing "Jingle Bells" or "Away in a Manger" literally brings on chills!!! This was also a somber Christmas considering Matt & I each lost a grandparent this year--not being able to share the holiday with them was hard to swallow but it helps to count the MANY blessings that we have and the realization that Caleb & I made TWENTY grandparent gifts this year! Now on to our next exciting time--the birth of a beautiful Baby Kent! Ultrasound tells us that we are having the first Baby GIRL Kent--we sure hope its correct--otherwise Baby Boy Kent might have to wear pink for a few days! HA!!! The c-section is scheduled for 1/5/07 and mommy is 100% ready. The house isn't ready, but at this point--what isn't done isn't gettin' done by this big, swollen, tired and very excited momma!!! To those of you who we had the priviledge of spending time with this Christmas--we had a blast. To those of you who we weren't so lucky to see this year---we missed you terribly and pray you had a WONDERFUL Christmas and that the New Year brings with it a new start for the things that need "do-overs" and continuation to those things that need continuation!
We love you all!
