Ethan has enjoyed almost four years of being an only child and will soon get to be apart of a bigger family when his little sister arrives in June 2009. I'm so glad that we had to wait as long as we did before having another because it afforded us the time really bond with him.  

Ethan's brit milah was celebrated eight days after his birth, March 18th, where he received his Hebrew name Zavdiel bin Jason and he was circumsized. Zavdiel means "Gift of G-d" and that he truly is.

A name is not merely a title given to each one of us for the purposes of distinction and character ... it is much more. The crown of a good name excels all other crowns, including the crown of learning, of priesthood and even of royalty. Zavdiel, which means "my gift" or more suitably "gift of G-d" identifies with the true essence of our son and our family. G-d has blessed us with the precious gift of life - our son- and for that we are truly grateful. We chose the name Zavdiel to honor G-d and to serve as a reminder of his benevolence. -- Jason Stearns
