Erica has big news to share! She has been in a big girl bed for a couple of weeks now! After more than 6 years, we no longer have a crib up in our house. Erica loves her big girl bed and her new room decorations – horses, of course! She has done a great job of staying in her bed at bedtime. She has had her nights of getting up a few times before she falls asleep, but overall, we are very happy with the transition! We’ve also entered the world of tantrums. Erica is becoming a pro at these and I guess we should just be happy her terrible 2’s didn’t hit until she was 3! Erica is doing better with potty training. This morning she woke up dry and after bribing her with a starburst, she went on the potty! We’ve tried underwear on her for one day and over a 5 hour period, she had 2 accidents. We’ll try again soon! It’s hard to find a full day when we’re home to be able to try this. Erica is doing great at school and her latest achievement is knowing the days of the week. Erica had her 3 year check up a couple of weeks ago where she came in at 33.2 lbs and at a height of 38 ½ inches. At the end of the month, she’ll have her first visit to the dentist.
Mallory is finishing up her last month of school! Hard to believe as of June 7th, we’ll have a 1st grader in the family! Mallory has been participating in Mileage Club at school. Four days a week they have the option to walk/run around the track instead of recess. After they have a certain amount of miles logged, they can get pencils, water bottles or toe tokens for their Mileage Club necklace. Mallory is having a fun time with her friends and is excited that Mom and Dad are volunteering for Mileage club tomorrow. Her school also started handing out Wolf Paw Awards which are earned by students being safe, kind, respectful, and responsible. Mallory has received 3 and we are very proud of her! Soccer continues for a few more weeks. Somehow we got lucky enough to have all of Mallory’s games at 9 am on Saturdays. We’ve had to pull out the hats and gloves for a few weeks but hope things are turning around now. Mallory appreciates that all of her G & G’s have been able to come watch her play! Her team is improving every week and she even scored 2 goals in her 2nd game! Mallory really enjoyed the day that Grandma Donaldson had the opportunity to go to her school, have lunch and visit the schools book fair.
We all had a great Easter and were able to celebrate with both sets of Grandparents. G & G Donaldson spent the holiday in CA so we had Easter with them the weekend before. After the Easter Bunny visited our house, we went to G & G Holmbergs house for the afternoon. We loved all the Easter egg hunts at all the houses we had this year! Mallory then had the following week off school where she enjoyed some time with Grandma Holmberg and also a couple of days back at KinderCare.
