The boys are getting very excited for Halloween. They are going to be Batman and Robin. Hunter is loving Kindergarten.  He also is playing Timbits hockey and thinks it's great.  Jackson is excited to be a big brother.  He loves to tell everyone he sees that we are going to have a "girl baby". He loves to go to preschool at the Glencoe and is taking skating and sportball classes.  I can't believe how quickly time is passing.  So fun!

Happy New Year!  How time flies.  Jackson had his 18 month immunizations today and weighed in at 31 lbs and was 34 inches tall.  He is in the 95th percentile.  My little tank!  Hunter is taller than Jackson, but probably weighs about the same.  They are great buddies and love to play together.  And wrestle.  Etc etc.

The boys LOVED Christmas and all of the activity it provided.  All things Santa were awesome.  The boys were spoiled by everyone and had loads and loads of fun.  Hunter is still talking about staying off the naughty list.

We stay busy during the week going back and forth to the Glencoe.  Hunter takes skating and swimming lessons.  And they both love to go play with other kids at the pre-school and daycare.  I love the break and a little workout.  Steve is busy with work and enjoying it a lot.  We are truly blessed.

It is hard to believe that next month Hunter will be three and Jackson will be one year old!  They are growing so quickly and having loads fun.  Hunter started soccer this week and loves it. . . Well he loved it the first day, but the second session Papa Mel came to watch and Papa was more interesting to Hunter than soccer.  Maybe next session he'll be back into it.  Jackson is our little tank.  He is 25 pounds and a chubby little monekeyshine.  He LOVES his brother and wants to do whatever Hunter is doing.  He doesn't crawl, he scoots on his bum.  So, he scoots on over and tries to play with Hunter all day long.  They love to wrestle, but I hate it!  I am worried Jackson will get hurt.  He seems to be the tough one, that's for certain.

We are heading to Montana tomorrow for a week.  Hunter is super excited to go "trabeling to 'Tana".  We've rented a cabin on 10 acres, so the boys will be able to run/scoot around to their hearts' desires.  It also has a hot tub, so Steve and I can have some vino and relax when the boys go to bed.  Needless to say, we are all looking very forward to our little vacation.

Hunter is bringing his Jeep out to Uncle Josh and Auntie Caitlin's tonight.  He is telling us he will poop in the potty so he can drive it. . . He's been tell us that for month, but it doesn't seem to happen.  You never know, maybe when he's three??  I don't really care too terribly much anymore.  I assume it will happen when he wants it to.  He speaks like an adult, so I'm pretty sure he will be able to communicate to us when he's ready and willing!

Well, we are a busy household these days.  Hunter is getting to be such a big boy.  He loves to play in the leaves and kick the soccer ball around the yard.  Jackson is already 16 pounds and got his first tooth yesterday morning and his second tooth this morning!!  Two teeth and only three months old.  His little cheeks are super red and he has his fists in his mouth all of the time, but other than that he is as happy as can be.  He is such a good baby!

Hunter had a very fun birthday.  He LOVED his Go Diego Go cake and definitely enjoyed opening his gifts.  "Wow" he'd say as he opened each present.  He had a fun barbeque with his Calgary grandparents on the 8th and then saw Grammy and Papa on their way home from Uncle Josh's convocation on the 10th.  Uncle Josh even came to visit overnight on the 11th.  It was an exciting week!  On the weekend we went to Heritage Park with his little buddy Ryerson and went on the steamboat and train.  They boys loved it all!

I am not sure how ready Hunter is to be a big brother.  He still doesn't want to sleep in his 'big boy' bed, so I think baby will be in the playpen bassinet for a while.  He may not be ready for this baby yet, but his Mommy sure is!  Steve and I love watching Hunter grow.  His vocabulary is amazing and he can express himself very well.  We are excited to see how our newest addition will change our family dynamic.

Hunter is looking very forward to Easter.  He's pretty sure Grammy and Papa will take him outside to play whenever he wants.  And he wants to ALL THE TIME!  Yesterday when Steve was picking up Hunter from daycare Hunter was outside playing.  Steve went to get him off of the little tricycle he was on and Hunter just turned to Steve and said 'bye-bye'. . . as in, 'Take off, I'm playing!'.  Hunter certainly loves to play outside.  Thankfully spring is around the corner, so he should be getting his wish any day now.

There's been a lot of changes for Hunter since the last entry.  Let's see, for starters, in November he had an accident at daycare and knocked out his two front teeth. Yep, right out.  He was pushing a little chair across the floor, slipped, fell, and hit his mouth on the chair.  The upside was that they came out cleanly, so the dentist said there was nothing we could do until his adult teeth come in five or six years from now.  Sigh.

Three days later we headed to New York City for Hunter's Auntie Gillian's wedding.  We had a ton of fun exploring Manhatten.  Hunter loved the lights and all of the action.

In December we visited Papa, Grammy, and Uncle Josh in Saskatchewan.  Man, did Hunter have a blast.  He certainly loves the Bangsunds, but especially Papa.  Everyday since we've arrived back in Calgary Hunter brings me the phone and says 'Papa'.  He loves to hear Papa and Grammy on the speaker phone.

I can't believe it's already the end of January.  Time certainly flies when you have a toddler.  Every day is brand new.  He brings us so much joy to our lives.  And keeps us on our toes.  Hunter can climb anything and has absolutely no fear of gravity.  I am quite certain that his little brother or sister will be one tough cookie.  We are expecting to meet him or her in early July.  Papa thinks it will be July 5. . . I am sure he's right.

Hunter has gone to bed now, so I can go back downstairs and watch hockey or Coronation Street or anything besides Blue's Clues.  He loves watching Blue's Clues.  We are barely in the door from daycare and Hunter is pleading with us 'Boos Coos Pees'.  So, Blue's Clues it is.  I can't believe how tired I am of that little blue dog!

Hunter is a chatter box. . . much like his Uncle Joshie was at Hunter's age, Grammy says.  He loves to talk.  He knows several words as well as animal and vehicle sounds.  He understands simple commands and listens when he wants.  i.e. "Hunter bring mommy your shoes and sit down on your bum so we can put them on" works because he likes to go outside.  "Hunter sit down and eat your medicine so you get better" doesn't work because he HATES his medicine.  He has had several ear infections in the past few months and detests the pink bubble gum flavored antibiotics.  Oh well, he seems to be feeling better now and the medicine is all gone.

Hunter likes to talk on the phone, press buttons of electronics (especially the television or remote control), and turn off and on lights.  He also knows the difference between 'play' phones/remotes or 'real' ones, and only wants the one that mom and dad like.  He's a smartie pants!

Hunter is getting excited to go to New York City for his Auntie Gillian's wedding in less than two weeks.  He has a little tux he is going to wear and is going to look very dashing I am sure.  We'll post some photos upon return.  And then he is excited to go to Saskatchewan for a few days before Christmas.  Lots of exciting things are coming up for Hunter!

Hunter is a busy, busy boy.  He is not just walking now, he's running, climbing, and super duper active.  He rarely sits still.  His daily report card from daycare earlier this week said  "Hunter may be small, but he doesn't let other kids push him around".  He's our little bruiser.  He has a great laugh and loves to hear himself talk, sneeze and generally make noises.  He says ma ma, da da, pa pa, ball, car, and cat.  He LOVES animals and gets super excited when he sees a dog or cat outside.  He even finds the crows interesting.  One of Hunter's favorite activities is going to the pet store and checking out the animals.  We feel like we really should get Hunter a dog, but then we realize that we still don't always sleep through the night with Hunter so who needs more work!?  Maybe when Hunter gets older and can help a little.  We have a busy weekend planned and hope that the weather is nice enough to spend some time outside.  Outside is where Hunter always wants to be.  Steve and Hunter go out and water the grass together in the evenings and Hunter never wants to come in.

Hunter took his first independant step this morning; and I missed it!  Steve saw it and I have been prodding Hunter to do it again for me, but it hasn't happened yet.  I am sure he'll be running in no time, so I'll try to be patient.  We have had a fun weekend.  We went to the spray park yesterday and to the Farmer's Market this morning.  Hunter certainly likes to be out and about, especially when it's outside.

I had Friday off for parade day so got Hunter all dressed up in his Stampede gear and was going to take him to Sears for photos.  I left him for two minutes while I ran upstairs and while I was away he got into the plant and was covered in dirt.  No photos were taken that day.  We'll just have to take some at home this week when Steve's around to help and the Stampede clothes have been washed.

It has been a bit of a crazy month for Hunter.  I went back to work on June 12 and Hunter has been going to the Children's Creative Learning Centre daycare.  He loves to play with the new toys and see his friends.  The only problem so far is the germs he keeps bringing home!  First there was the stomach flu and then throat and ear infections.  I think we are finally healthy now and hopefully have much stronger immune systems to show for it.  It is a Nexen holiday today, so Hunter and I are going to go for a walk to the spray park when he wakes up and depending on what time Steve can get home, maybe we'll go to the zoo.  Hunter loves to see animals!

I can hardly believe that our baby is almost one.  It doesn't seem possible.  This year has gone by so quickly.  I am back to work on June 12, so Hunter will be starting daycare then too.  I am sure that I will be more anxious than he will.  Hunter loves playing with other children, so I think he'll enjoy daycare.

Steve is going to come home a little early from work today so we can take Hunter to the petting zoo at Heritage Park.  Hunter LOVES animals, so we are excited for him to see the piglets and such.  I will post photos upon return.  Hunter is also a real Daddy's boy these days, so he'll be glad Dad is coming along as well.

Hunter has had a busy month.  He is a baby on the move!  We went to Saskatchewan for a week to Visit Grammy Patty and Grandpa Mel and the rest of the Flatlanders as Daddy would say.  Steve couldn't believe how different Hunter looked when we returned with a mouth full of teeth!

Tomorrow we are on our way to Palm Springs for two weeks to stay with Grandma Doreen and Grandpa Larry.  I think Hunter is going to love the swimming pool and we are going to take him to Sea World and the Living Desert Zoo as well.  It should be a lot of fun.  Hunter has had a cold, so I hope his ears don't bother him too badly for the flight.  I had a throat infection this past week, but am fine now.  Steve has had a sore throat and swollen glands for the past couple of days, so I hope he gets better ASAP!  Not the best timing....  But I am sure once we feel that hot desert heat we will be over the moon!

When we return from Palm Springs, Auntie Gillian will be in town, so we will celebrate a belated Easter with her and Grandma Barb then.  Lots of fun!

Hunter has gone from having one tooth to having five in the matter of days!  His bottom left has been in since Valentine's Day and then his top right and the one next to it just came in a couple of days ago.  And now the Top left and bottom right teeth are pushing through.  They don't seem to be bothering him too much during the day, but he has had a few nights where his mouth seems to be sore and he isn't able to fall asleep.  Poor little guy.

Hunter is super excited to go to Saskatchewan for a visit!  We are leaving on Thursday for a week.  I am sure Grammy and Grandpa will be super surprised to see how big Hunter is!  He is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up and walking around his toys and the furniture.  He is a very curious little guy and has to check out everything in reach.  He just 'checked out' my running magazine which is now missing several pages.  Good thing it wasn't the baby book or something.  You have to watch him like a hawk!  :)

Hunter is crawling!  And he is fast!  He loves all things that he shouldn't; i.e. cords, electronics, speaker wire, etc.  If you turn your head for mere seconds he is off to find some trouble.  He also loves to ride his Pooh Bear on Wheels.  He hangs on to the handles and we push and pull him all around the basement.  His other favorite activity is being pushed around the basement floor by Daddy's head.  Head butted into bear rolls to be exact.  He thinks it's the funniest trick ever and laughs hysterically.  Pretty entertaining!

Hunter had a very eventful Valentine's Day, cutting his first tooth.  It must be quite uncomfortable, as he is constantly rubbing at his gums and isn't the happiest of campers.  He also has a cold, so it's a bit of a double whammy for him this week.  Hopefully he'll be back to his chipper self soon. . . and back to sleeping better as well!

I can't believe how quickly Hunter is learning new things.  He decided two weeks ago that he would no longer breastfeed.  He ONLY wanted the bottle and solids.  And to top it off, he wants to feed himself.  This is somewhat difficult, as he hasn't figured out how to aim at his mouth.

He also started creeping; and went from just a snail's pace to zooming around the house in mere days!  If you turn your head for a minute he is headed for the electronics, wires, or lamps.  The playpen has become "jail" for when I have to leave the room for a second.  What a kid!

We are off to our swimming class this morning.  Hunter loves the pool and playing with the other kids.  He likes to splash around in the pool and I think he will be all over swimming in Palm Springs in April when we go for a little vacation.

Hunter still has no teeth, but he is rubbing his gums and chewing on everything.  I think they will pop through soon.  He might be walking before he has teeth!

Hunter has had a tough couple of weeks.  He had a stomach virus with vomiting and diarrhea for a week!  The poor little guy was trying so hard to be happy, but couldn't keep anything down.  He is feeling better now though, and is making up for lost time by eating all day long.  We had lost some weight after being ill, but is back to his chubby little self.

We went to the zoo yesterday for the first time and Hunter loved looking at the animals.  He even saw the baby hippo; super cute!  He seemed to like the deer and ducks the most, probably because they were the closest to us.  He also really liked the big owls!   I hadn't been to the Calgary Zoo in a long time and it is really a very nice place!

Hunter has had a very exciting week.  His Grandpa and Grammy B. and his Uncle Josh all came for his baptism on the 18th and are staying until Boxing Day.  He is quite the Grandpa's boy.  He only wants Grandpa to put him to sleep, to play, to walk, to sing, to be silly, and sometime even Mommy won't do.  I think Grammy is a little (okay a lot) jealous.

Hunter's baptism was a very special day.  He had all of his Grandparent's there and even some Great Grandparents.  Uncle Josh and Auntie Jami stood up to be his Godparents.  He was a good baby and even smiles as the pastor took his around the church with his head dripping wet.  I think he liked the attention.

We are all going skating today, Uncle Josh and Grandpa are pretty excited to initiate Hunter to the ice. Grandpa is pretty sure that he can have his own skates at two and then be the best hockey player by seven.  Dad is excited to take him to the rink with his Tim Horton's on the cold Saturday mornings.  I am good with that!  I'll go to the later games.
