Stories May 2, 2009 - It's been a while since we have updatd the website and a lot has changed since the last update. As most of you know, we have moved to Texas and currently in temporary housing until we close on our house here. There are countless activities for the kids to do here and we are trying to take advantage of all them before it gets Texas Hot! We hope all well and to see everyone soon. Love, Chad, Nikel, Owen and Kyndall Grace September 27, 2008 - While updating the webpage we were looking at all the old pictures of the kids and its hard to imagine how fast they are growing up. Kyndall is almost 1 year old and Owen continues to amaze us with how much his brain is absorbing. We hope everything is well with everyone and we hope to see everyone over the holidays, which are right around the corner. Love, Chad, Nikel, Owen, and Kyndall Grace June 1, 2008 - It's been a while since we have wrote. We are doing well and the kids are growing so fast. It's amazing watching them grow and play together. We spent Memorial Day in Pennsylvania and had a wonderful time watching Pap and Grandma play with the kids. The kids had so much fun. Owen got his first bike and learning how to pedal, its going to be a very slow process. We hope all is well and will write again soon. Love, Chad, Nikel, Owen, and Kyndall Grace January 9, 2008 - For Nikel's birthday we flew to Los Angeles to be on the Price is Right. We were not chosen to "Come on Down" but we were part of the studio audience. The show will air February 13 and we are seated 4-5 rows from contestents row on the left hand (TV screen) aisle. We had a wonderful time on the show and a nice vacation visting the Hollywood sites, but deeply missed Owen and Kyndall. The 4 days away seemed like 2 weeks from the kids. We are glad to be home. December 22, 2007 - It has been an amazing year for our family. We introduced a beautiful little girl into our lives, watched Owen go from crawling to running, and moved back South. November 11, 2007 - Nikel and Kyndall are home and everyone is adjusting to our new family. Owen loves his little sister and always smiles when he gets near her. We are one big happy family. Love, Chad, Nikel, Owen, and Kyndall November 9, 2007 - Nikel and Kyndall are doing great. The Pediatrician gave Kyndall 2 thumbs up and said that everything looked perfect. Nikel is up and walking around and it is anticipated that her and Kyndall will be coming home on Sunday. We appreciate everyone who has kept us in their prayers and hearts and we are very fortunate to have family and friends who are so loving and supportive. Love, Chad, Nikel, Owen, and Kyndall November 8, 2007 - We are proud to announce that Kyndall Grace McDougal came into our lives this morning at 7:28 AM. She weighed 7lbs and 20" long. Nikel and Kyndall are doing wonderful. We will update the website with pictures very soon. Love, Chad, Nikel, Owen, and Kyndall May 18, 2007 - Well, as everyone has probably noticed, Nikel is pregnantand the baby is due mid-November. We are very excited about adding another child to our family and anxious for Owen to be a big brother. Nikel was pretty sick during the first trimester, but is now starting to feel better and able to do more things outside of the house. Owen is growing up fast and basically running all over the place, he's hard to keep up. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for another child. Love Chad, Nikel, and Owen March 22, 2007 - Sorry we haven't updated the site for a while. Once we get into our new house (March 30), the movers arrive with our stuff (April 2), and we get everthing organized and put away (sometime late in 2007) we will update the site. Hopefully we will have some new pictures shortly after Easter. Owen had a great 1st birthday with several parties and being ridiculously spoiled. We can't believe how big is getting and how fast time flys. The move is going great so far, we are all anxious to get out of the temporary apartment and into our new home. Due to several people asking, we have placed a picture of our new house on the website. Talk to everyone soon. Love, Chad, Nikel, and Owen January 17, 2007 - Owen has all four front top teeth coming in at once. Poor little guy!! He has been pretty fussy the past few days, and not sleeping as well as normal. Hopefully, they will stop hurting him soon. He still isn't walking by himself, but he gets around holding on to the furniture. It really shouldn't be too much longer before he realizes he can do it all by himself. January 16, 2007 - Chad has accepted a position with the corporate office in Birmingham AL, and we'll be moving back! Owen is doing very well with his helmet. He only has to wear it for about 3 more weeks!! November 30, 2006 - Owen went in for a 2 week checkup for his helmet today. The doctor said his head is rounded out perfectly. They took the mold of his first visit and compared it to his head shape now, and even I could see improvement. His ears are also shifting so they are looking more even. November 28, 2006 - We had a blast over Thanksgiving. Owen did a great job on the 8 hour car trip! Chad went hunting the Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving, but didn't have any luck! The weather was unusually warm, so it didn't make for good hunting. November 14, 2006 - Owen went in today for his helmet check up. Everything was great. The therapist noticed some growth where he had his flat spot. He will have to go back every 2 weeks to get another check up. He also has to have physical therapy for his neck. The muscle that is attached to his ear is extremely tight and is causing him to tilt his head. We will have to do the therapy at home until he is 18 months! November 7, 2006 - Owen has offically been "banded". He got his band this evening and is in pretty good spirits, he doesn't even know its on. Hopefully he will be able to sleep while wearing it. The band has to be on 23 hours a day for 3-4 months. We should start to see improvements in his skull in a couple of weeks, isn't technology amazing. November 4, 2006 - We spent the last week in Birmingham, AL visiting familty and celebrating halloween. Grandma Toni made the referee outfit that Owen wore for Halloween, the costume turned out perfect and everyone commented on how cute he looked. It was awsome to see our family and friends throughout the week and getting to spend quality time with everyone. Thanks to all. October 25, 2006 - Well, after several months of unsuccessfull positioning techniques. Owen is being casted today for an orthotic to help position his skull into normal position. Owen has cranial plagiocephaly, which is associated with tighteness of one side of the neck which causes an infant to to favor one side. The favoring of the one side causes an abormal skull shape and shifting of one side of the face. Owen will have to wear a cranial band for approximately 3-4 months until the skull shifts back into normal position. Here is link if you are interested. www.cranialtech.com. October 15, 2006 - We went to the Pumpkin Patch with Uncle Carl, Aunt Shaorn, Lindsey, Carl, and Addy. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. Owen got to see and pet several different barnyard animals and got to pick out his first pumpkin.
