Letters to Hudson
My Big Kindergartener,
It's been way to long since I've updated things...we have been having so much fun being together this summer!! You are such a great brother...you are very protective of Harper and love to show her how to do new things (even if you aren't so sure yourself.) You got to go visit Mimi and Popa for an entire week this summer. You guys had so much fun! They both took the entire week off to spend time with you. You even got to go on a special camping trip with Popa and got to ride in a conoe!! (You even fell out of it!) You helped Popa build a damn and created a natural rock slide to slide down. You were very protective of Harper and kept telling her that a certain part of the rock was dangerous! LOL! You def. are a kid that wants to follow the rules. You get worried if you do something you aren't supposed to and get upset. For example...if you aren't supposed to eat on the pool deck...you won't. (Even if everyone else is) You also are afraid for your friends and family to break the rules as well and will warn them. Harper was going to go in the area where the slides are to go up the ladder and you said, "No, no Harper...you aren't supposed to go there!" I love how you care about others and want to please those around you. It makes me laugh at some of the words you use. You say things like, this area, something is impolite. You will also tell me something and will say, "was that a good idea?" You also love telling the high and low of your day. Every night at dinner you usually start and tell what the best and lowest part of your day is. You became quite the little swimmer this summer. You can even swim the entire length of a backyard pool. You also just went off the diving board and LOVED it! Harper starting trying to swim at the end of the summer and you said, "I can't believe this...Harper is swimming!" You are a child that doesn't like the "unknown" Once you feel something out or and see what it is going to be like you are fine...it's just the unknown that you don't like. So before you started Kindergarten we talked a lot about what it might be like. You told me you were afriad you wouldn't know your ABC's. When I asked what you meant you said, "I only know them when I sing them!" LOL! You started Kindergarten last week and you LOVE it! I got to go with you on your first day and it was so much fun. I'm so proud to be your mom!!! On the second day, I dropped you off in the carpool line. When you saw your teacher you looked at me with a grin and said, "She is even more beautiful than yesterday!" LOL! You are bringing her a necklace to school tomorrow! :-) We went to you ice cream social and you played with the "big boys" for over an hour. We left and you looked like you were on cloud nine! Your confidence is growing and you are LOVING being a big Kindergarten kid! This past week you even caught a frog by yourself and picked up a dead bird! LOL! I can't believe you are already in Kindergarten but am so happy you are enjoying it as much as you are. I wish I could be a fly on the wall. On the first day you said the teacher chose you to put the number of the day up because you were sitting so nice and quiet! You are the best little boy a mother could ask for. The other day I was wearing a new swimsuit and when we got to the pool you said, "Mommy, you look pretty...I like your swimsuit!" How can that not make my day? My heart continually overflows with love for you...I can't wait to see what this year has in store for you. We are so proud of you, Hudson. You amaze me every day!
Hugs and Kisses,
Mommy
