What a wonderful eventful Thanksgiving we had! We had a Thanksgiving service at 10 am at our church, Valley Baptist. Following the service we went to Pastor's neighborhood for the men's annual football game. The game ended in a tie. Then we drove to Marcus and LaToya Byrd's house, our friends from church, for our Thanksgiving meal. Within 15 minutes of our arrival Luke pulled the steering wheel out of the kid's Little Tyke's car and started carrying it around until he fell forward onto it and cut his face. They advised us to take him to an Urgent Care Center to get him checked out because the cut looked pretty deep. The Doctor glued it instead of giving him stitches to keep it from getting infected. He's doing fine. We enjoyed the rest of the evening at the Byrd's house. On Friday we finally finished our flower bed in the back yard (as you can see in the pictures.) We planted all my flowering plants and aloe vera plants there. Hopefully I can find some more flowers to plant also! The weather has been beautiful! It's been in the 70/80's for several weeks now! God is good all the time!
What was I thinking, every day is beautiful here?! Obviously I had forgotten how hot it gets in the summertime (and it's not even summer yet!) We were in the triple digits for a few weeks already! Whew!
Just a little while ago I said goodbye to the Gieseler family (Josh's mom, dad, and two sisters.) They flew in last Saturday and are flying out early this morning around 6. We had a wonderful week being together. On Monday we enjoyed the day at Prospector Park with our church family. We started the day with a few games of softball then we ate. Josh, Jess and Janelle played volleyball after that. On Tuesday, we went to a D-back's game and met an older lady (Williams) whose husband played pro for the Rams. You can see her on the left in the pic I took with her and her two friends. On Thursday we left early and made a full round trip sight-seeing to Canyon Lake, Apache Lake, Roosevelt Lake and Dam, and Saguaro Lake. Dad treated us to Dairy Queen to end the day. Mmmmm. On Friday we slept in and rested from our previous day's adventure. On Friday evening I had my "jewelry party" from Premier High Fashion Jewelry. I had 15 ladies in attendance! Wow! Josh took Jordan and Paw Paw to Bass Pro Shop during that time. After everyone left, we put the boys to bed and Jess, Janelle, and I stayed up playing Dutch Blitz. We won't say who won or who got bitter over it....:) Anyways, I have lots of great stories but no time and room to tell them all, so....have a great summer! Send some cool this way!!!
